These are pictures from my Halloween of 2005. I was originally going to go to a friend's party on the saturday before Halloween, with my date Jesse and her 2 daughters, but that fell through. Then on Halloween night, Jesse & I went to the University Book Store in Seattle to see a presentation by LotR-artist Alan Lee. He was giving a slideshow of sketches & photographs from the making of the Lord of the Rings movies, and then signing autographs for his new book he was releasing. There was also a costume contest, which we entered but didn't win (which came as a surprise to me).

You can read the full story here, at my LiveJournal.
For now, here are pictures.

I decided to paint the crests of the 4 houses of Hogwarts, one on each pumpkin, since I was dressing as a Harry Potter character. Also in anticipation of the Goblet of Fire movie. On the left is the pumpkin I painted. The quality is a bit off due to lighting, angle, and the cheapness of my camera. On the right is the picture I based it on.

Jesse was going to dress her youngest daughter Jasmine as Dobby, but Jasmine wasn't able to come to the bookstore event. But I got pictures of her at my aunt's party earlier in the month.

This is she-of-many-names *awwwwwwwwww* She is the cutest thing when she's sleeping. Her sister is also the world's cutest 3-year-old.

This is her, her mommy, and Uncle Casey.

This is her with my cousin Erin.

Here I am as Rubeus Hagrid, teacher of Care of Magical Creatures at Hogwarts Academy.

And my date, Top-of-her-class student Hermione Granger, with her cat Crookshanks.

And the two of us together. Ignore the fact that I'm not 8'6".

Here I am with the pumpkins.

Here's Hermione with another anonymous Hogwarts girl we met at the party. Can you say Oo-la-la?

Here's da galz of NorthWest Tolkien Society, the organization that put on the party. L to R: Bekah, Mary, Jojo.

These are all the people that were there in costume. Well, except for the ones that got cut off on the right. *muttercheapcameramutter*

Legolas won the costume contest, and chose a Legolas doll as his prize. What would Freud think?

SAME PICTURE AGAIN, FOR TESTING/TROUBLESHOOTING
As we all stood outside at night planning what to do next, Alan Lee came out, and we snagged a great photo-op. He looks kinda like my uncle Tim.
