Paintings are like Cheese by Casey Jespon
© 2000

Visual arts have earned their place in upper and lower class society.

Cheese is bountiful in the cheap and beloved in the rare.

The good paintings get expensive as they get old
And the cheap art is stale after a day

In France you will find impressionist works next to bottles of red wine

And in Seattle entire billboards are devoted to cheddar and swiss

There are several distinct flavors:
Portrait, lanscape, nonobjective, ancient Greece, abstract, realism
But beyond that they are the same.

Starry Starry Night is delicious in any room,
but after a few bites it gets bland.

It was a bohemian idea to smoke gouda.

You can have your steak with a side of paint or cheese for an extra $.95. Enjoy!
